Commitment to you and your pet

We have three branches in Gosport, Stubbington and Fareham, so you are never far from an Alver Veterinary Group branch. We offer a caring and compassionate service to the furry members of your family. We will greet you with a smile and do our best to understand your needs as well as those of your pet. We offer appointments from 8.30am to 8pm on weekdays, and also have appointments on Saturdays.

Our practice was founded in 1965 in Gosport, Hampshire, by veterinary surgeon Nick Bray, MRCVS, who retired in January 2000.

Over the years the practice has expanded, and today we have 10 veterinary surgeons and a staff of over 40.

Alver Veterinary Group was acquired by CVS (UK) Limited on 18 March 2013 and now operates as part of this larger group of veterinary practices and veterinary service providers.

Commitment to your healthy pet

As well as being here for you when you have a problem, we encourage preventative health care such as vaccination, dental care and preventative treatment against parasites such as fleas and worms. We run The Healthy Pet Club to allow these expenses to be budgeted for in a monthly payment. The Healthy Pet Club also includes a free six monthly health check with a nurse among other benefits.

Commitment to learning

We are dedicated to constantly improving our expertise and facilities. Our vets undertake regular continuing education to ensure they are up to date with the latest advances in medicine and surgery. Two of our vets have post graduate certificates and five others are working towards their Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP). This means we can offer an increased level of expertise in several different areas of medicine and surgery.

Our nurses also undertake continuing education. We have two nurses currently studying for an advanced nursing qualification in medicine.

We are proud to be a registered nurse training practice for student veterinary nurses.
